The Way Home Megan Chance Books
Good story with the twist of the hero being extremely socially awkward, to the point of making you uncomfortable as you read. Eliza was sweet and naive in her quest to break free from the life as a sharecropper's wife. She thought Cole would be her redeemer, but instead he dumps her off with his brother, Aaron, who was so incapacitated by fears, that he could hardly even look at her. You have a long bought of his insane shyness where he cannot communicate with Eliza, who is now his wife. She feels neglected and unloved, he feels she's disgusted by his inability to touch or talk to her. Painful to read, but it is nice once you get past the awkwardness of it for them to see that they both do care for each other. I thought the part about the town thinking Aaron is a monster was a bit of a stretch, but if you can get past that, you could see how it only fed his shyness and made him socially withdrawn. Wish there had been more to the end of the book after the declarations of love, but you'll have to be satisfied with a one chapter epilogue to get your details.Tags : Amazon.com: The Way Home (9780061084911): Megan Chance: Books,Megan Chance,The Way Home,HarperTorch,0061084913,Romance - Contemporary,Fiction,Fiction - Romance,Fiction Romance Contemporary,Fiction Romance Historical General,Romance - Historical,Romance: Modern
The Way Home Megan Chance Books Reviews
I enjoyed reading this book and have recommended it to friends. Its an easy read, the characters are relatable and the author keeps it interesting. Good for the beach or a long plane ride.
It was okay. The story line seemed a bit too contrived though.
ONE MIGHT BE INCLINED TO THINK THIS IS ANOTHER ROMANCE NOVEL. THEY WOULD BE SO WRONG...IT IS SO,SO MUCH MORE. CHANCE' S WRITING IS INVOLVED, DEVELOPED AND DOES NOT DISAPPOINT. I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED AND IN ALL ACTUALITY, LOVED THIS BOOK. LOOK FORWARD TO SPENDING TIME WITH MORE OF THE WRITINGS OF THIS AUTHOR.
I really liked the character of Belle. She is a strong, capable woman who can handle any one and anything that comes her way. A good love story with a wonderful ending. Captivating main character, interesting plot. As always, an easy read from Ms. Chance. A book that was really hard to put down!
Ms. Chance's writing style is so enjoyable, the book is descriptive, but just enough to paint the scene and put you in it, not "two- page overly descriptive."
Try reading any and all of Ms. Chance's books and youwill become hooked on this author!
I enjoyed the story and like Megan Chance. However, this edition was full of miss-spellings, wrong words, terrible formatting, and just overall sloppiness. Very distracting errors when reading.
Again, not Megan Chance's fault but the fault of however did the digital version.
I so enjoyed this wonderful book - The characters were so well developed - I laughed and cried - there have been so many books that I've enjoyed but I found myself skipping through so many pages and with this book I read every line. I loved Eliza and Aaron, not to say I didn't like Cole but he was shallow until nearly the end and then I think he realized all that he so callously gave up. Even then I felt he was trying to get Eliza which made me feel he was a selfish person. I loved Eliza and Aaron from the very first paragraph they entered the book together. By the end of the book I felt like I was a part of them. What a wonderful author and I'm looking for more of her books. This was my first but it will not be the last.
I liked this story, but felt it could have been so much more. The characters were likeable some more than others. I felt like the author wasted a lot of time on unimportant things. It dragged on and on in places where nothing happens. Then when the time came where you enjoyed reading about the characters development and the story picks up and your excited to read what happens next it's over. What??? I wanted to read the details of Aaron and Eliza finally being together, raising their children. What Aaron father felt when he finally holds his heir. Where Cole went and if he ever marries or finds love. It ended leaving too much unanswered undone in my opinion. Just when it got good it ended. Too bad too, it could have been so much more.
