This book at times was really hard to get through. Confused as to why it was necessary to inject Lisa and Powell into the story line to say nothing of the gratuitous sex between Lisa/s husband and mistress. Really do not understand why that story line was added into Trilby's story????? Sissy and Naki were at least friends of the main characters but I still felt like it was more added fluff instead of developing the Trilby story line.

A story of love and survival where women had to be strong and men actually respected them imagine that! all the characters seemed so real the story took you back to a time where life was hard but being in love made it seem easy

I've read a ton of Diana Palmer novels and it very often seems that I'm reading the same book over and over with just title and the era and/or names and/or geographic setting changed.
I love the history portrayed here. I think the characters are right on the spot. She writes with a light hand on her characters and lets them create themselves. At least that is the way it seems to me. I have read a lot of her books and I enjoy her older books. They aren't as full of sex and have more plot than a lot of the newer books. I recommend this book because I liked it period.
Excellent historical western by Diana Palmer. Loved the main romance story of Thorne and Trilby, but the other two romanes almost steal the book. Great read. I still have the paperback edition with the Fabio cover!
This is another of Palmer's historical books. And like her other historical books, this one doesn't take place in the far distance past, it take place around the beginning of the 19th century... the time of my grandparents! I found it true to what was going on at the time, not making the characters act in current ways and current morals. I really hate authors who rewrite history and Palmer doesn't. She draws you in to the point it is hard to put this book down! Her characters are real and her story line believable! Is it any wonder when I want a good book to read, I re-read hers!
